This place was really dissapointing dude. The place does have some good beers for cheers, but the appeal for the food is below average.
I like how they have a little salsa bar with free chips, that's pretty cool. But I ordered some beans n' chicken one night, and... it really was tasteless. The chicken didn't have any flavor to it, and the beans were real mediocre. All in all, the place just stinks.

This place is pretty good for beer drinkers and families (can't say that about too many places).  The kids can be as loud as they want to be, messy as they want to be, the service is pretty good and the food pretty darn decent too.

Warning: much anger will be present here. I am a huge Chuy's fan, so here it goes...
As many may already know, Chuy's Mesquite Broiler is a restaurant chain in several areas in California. It is blessed for having some unique atmosphere while serving up some decent-tasting food.
Ventura County has real good locations, places where teens can hang out and have some good beer. Fries and tacos, why not? Those specific store locations are made for willing customers. Good taste and friendly service are their style.
Unfortunately, every chain has badly-run stores. You know what I mean, the "less" desirable ones. This particular Chuy's store on Rosedale, no matter how pretty it may seem, is actually really bad! Come on, just taste the food they make here. Can anyone seriously come up to us customers and tell us, "Oh, they make such GREAT food here!"?
It is NO WHERE NEAR as good as Bakersfield localities like Los Hermanos or Mauricio's. As a matter of fact, this restaurant is not even following the recipes done by the original Chuy's locations. That's a real surprise! Imagine if there were Del Taco locations who made food completely different than other Del Taco locations! Sure Del Taco varies, but they don't change the recipe!
It is truly a shame that I say this, because of this one, single fact: I am a HUGE Chuy's fan! No joke, I love everything about them! I love their purpose, I love their logo, I love their locations; heck, I love their colors! But THIS STORE LOCATION is a big-time mess!
Just to begin with, the atmosphere is absolutely bland. There are some decorations here and there, but nothing really unique about them. Balloons... big deal. Del Taco often has balloons, who cares? Any place has pretty spots, we did not come here for cute balloons.
Why is the restaurant so dirty? Half the tables are on the bottom-end, and the salsa bar is disheveled. I don't know about you, but I prefer a CLEAN place for a change. XD And yes, I checked the bathrooms too... I couldn't count the germs in there... yuck.
And the gaming arcade, or whatever there is of it, is not impressive what-so-ever. Unlike those nice Chuy's locations in other parts of California where they have entertaining video games, this store location has very little to offer. The arcade at this place sucks, and it's absolutely no fun! X(
The service... forget it, the service sucks too. Pardon my french, but it stinks hard. Why is it that I have to wait so long for food, and then when I get it... it is cold? Maybe a little bit of organization would have helped make this plate warm at least.
Sure, some come here just to have a drink. Yep, the most positive folks of this place came here for a drink,... wow. I am so excited. I can't wait to buy beer, something they have everywhere else! I have to ask, what on earth does it mean to "have a drink?" Anybody can have a drink somewhere. If I wanted a freaking drink, I'd go to a freaking Walmart, buy drinks, go home, and then read the paper! X(
The bottom line: we didn't come here because it was "Chuy's Bar," we came here because it was CHUY'S MESQUITE BROILER!!!!!!! Remember folks, we go to restaurants for everything: food, atmosphere, purpose of coming, etc. And the facts are these: the food tastes horrible, the atmosphere is mediocre at best, and the service is too slow to make it worthwhile. I highly recommend going somewhere else; try Jimano's Pizzeria or Tom's Famous Burgers. They are much better! :)

Talk about a great Tri-Tip sandwich, WOW, really good. Each and everytime I've been to Chuy's it's been great; however, if I cant find a parking space I will go somewhere else. My favorite time to go is on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon for lunch when I can watch a ball game. My wife loves the chicken salad (small size only-- the regular is to big) and my kids love the chicken strips. Very kid friendly and very nice on the pocket book. Great place to eat and have fun.

I've never actually ate at this restaurant, but their catering service is really good. I work at the Carquest Distribution Center north of town and last Friday evening they had them cater to us during our annual inventory count. I liked their chicken, rice and beans the best. Also the employees that were there to cook and serve the food were really nice.

You really get more bang for your buck here. My favorite is the killer pork sandwich that comes with seasoned fries and cabbage salad. Don't mistake it for tradition cole slaw because it's not. I always ask for beans to substitute for the cabbage and they are awesome. The sandwich is huge, the fries plentiful, the service friendly, the atmosphere happy and relaxed. It's a little noisy at times but that adds to the experience. The beef dinner is also a great value.
The last time I was there I could only eat half my sandwich and was looking forward to the other half for dinner. When I got home I looked around for my container and realized I'd left it on the table. Talk about heartbreak. Basket of food and drink for under 10 bucks.
Good value..good food.

I pulled into town late one Monday night and stopped here for dinner. It was during a football game and I sat at the bar. The food is pretty good. The fish tacos I had were filling and cheap. But the biggest surprise was that for $2.50 I got a half pitcher of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. I didn't even drink it all because I had to drive home.
After the game was over they pulled out one of those boards with the hole in the middle and let customers try to throw a football through the hole. It was fun watching those who had been drinking all night try to hit the target ;-) They gave prizes away to people who stayed for the entire game and to the person who threw the football through the target. So this is a good place to watch the game and get cheap eats and drinks.

This is a fun place to go on a hot summer night and sit out on the patio with a drink. It's parking area is also a gather place for classic cars at times.
